Conferences

In October 2011, LBI ArchPro organized the first International Conference and Workshop on ‘Pioneering Archaeological Prospection’ in Laa a.d. Thaya. Focusing on the early beginnings of archaeological prospection as well as the latest developments, LBI ArchPro managed to gather some of the very first pioneers in the field, such as Martin Aitken, Mike Tite, Albert Hesse, John C. Belshé, Otto Braasch, Yasushi Nishimura and Helmut Becker, as well as the second generation of scientists including Jörg Faßbinder, Michel Dabas, Chris Gaffney, Vince Gaffney, Dominik Powlesland and experts of the LBI ArchPro.

In 2012 the First International Conference on Virtual Archaeology was organized by the Department of Eastern Europe and Siberian Archaeology of the State Hermitage Museum in Saint-Petersburg (Russian Federation) in co-operation with LBI ArchPro.  

Between May 29th and June 2nd 2013, LBI ArchPro and the Austrian Academy of Sciences hosted the ‘10th International Conference on Archaeological Prospection’ (AP2013) on behalf of the International Society for Archaeological Prospection (ISAP) and the Aerial Archaeology Research Group (AARG).
