Partners of the LBI ArchPro

The LBI and its scientific network of international partnersThe partners of the LBI are a well selected and highly motivated group of interdisciplinary working scientists (archaeologists, geophysicists, physicists, computer scientists), benefiting from close personal contacts and ensuring short communication channels and effective long-term scientific research. The contributed resources and expertise of the partners provide a holistic workflow, benefiting from the multidisciplinary of the different specialists.

The partner consortium of the LBI combines leading teams (Archeo Prospections®, RAÄ UV teknik, VISTA with related partner Uni-Bradford, VIAS-Geophysical Prospection, Aerial Archive at UFG, NIKU-Archaeologi) in the professional application of archaeological prospection methods, ensuring highest interest in joint technical and methodological development pursued by the LBI.

The technological development in archaeological prospection opens doors for a wide range of new possibilities which are especially interesting for the partner institutions, dealing with monument documentation and protection in daily work (RAÄ, NoeL, NIKU) as well as the partners acting as archaeological prospection contractors (ZAMG, Uni-Wien and RAÄ). In the long-term perspective the knowledge, hardware and software tools produced by the LBI will permit routine application of the methods and techniques to the benefit of the investigation and protection of endangered archaeological heritage.
