Full partners of the LBI ArchPro

The LBI and its scientific network of international partners

An integral and important part of the LBI ArchPro are its European partner organizations, covering academic institutes, national archaeological and geophysical research departments, governmental cultural heritage agencies as well as commercial archaeological prospection service providers and SMEs.

Representing a diverse range of individual interests. In particular these are the Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (NIKU), the Province of Lower Austria (NoeL), LWL - Archäologie für Westfalen (LWL), the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) with the Institute for Computer Graphics and Algorithms and the Institute for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the University of Vienna (Uni Vienna) with the Vienna Institute for Archaeological Science (VIAS) and the Institute of Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology (UHA), Vestfold og Telemark Fylkeskommune (Vtfk), 7reasons Medien GmbH (7reasons), the Department of Applied Geophysics at the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), the University for Continuing Education Krems (Danube University Krems - DUK) and the Spanish Riding School (SRS).  All partners are directly involved in the research programme, primarily through involvement in the corresponding national case studies.

While the main interest for some partners lies in generating scientific output in the form of joint publications, others are be more interested in the direct benefits derived from the development of efficient hardware and software solutions for large-scale archaeological prospection, applicable to research or rescue archaeology. Of common interest for all partners are successfully executed case studies that produce valuable new scientific data and information on important and possibly endangered archaeological heritage hidden in the ground. At the same time, the generated results can be used to demonstrate the potential of the new methods and the novel landscape archaeological (prospection) approach.
