Data Protection

As the protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us, we only process your data based on applicable legal provisions (such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Telecommunications Act, Data Protection Act). In this privacy notice, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing in connection with the use of our website.

What are personal data?

Personal data means all information referring to a natural person. What is important in this context is that data are deemed personal data as soon as such natural person can be identified based on these data (e.g. by assigning a user ID). This includes information such as your name, address, telephone number and date of birth. Statistical information which cannot be linked to you, either directly or indirectly, (e.g. popularity of individual web pages of our offer or the number of users per page) is not personal data.

Who is responsible for the collection and processing of your personal data?

Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft is responsible for collecting and processing your data. Should you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us at:

Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft
Mag. Dr. Bernd M. Schauer

Which rights do the users of the websites of LBG, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes, the Ludwig Boltzmann Cluster and the research groups have?

You have rights of access, to rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, withdrawal and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your rights under data protection law have been violated in any other way, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft contact indicated above.

How is the security of your personal data ensured?

Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft ensures the security of your data by taking appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect the stored personal data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss or destruction and against access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are being continuously improved in accordance with technical progress.
