LBI ArchPro scientist wins science prize

LBI ArchPro scientist Dr. Roland Filzwieser was awarded the Barbara Scholkmann Prize of Historical Archaeology for his outstanding dissertation on the late medieval and early modern landscape of Scharfeneck Castle and the Scharfeneck dominion. As a historian and expert in archaeological prospection methods, he combines the methods and sources of historical science with those of archaeological prospection and landscape archaeology in an exemplary interdisciplinary manner.

He shares the prize, which is awarded by the University of Tübingen and carries a prize money of 3,000 euros, with Dr. Fabian Brenker from the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg, who completed his doctorate on medieval tournaments and lance games.
