In October 2011 the LBI ArchPro organized the first International Conference and Workshop on ‘Pioneering Archaeological Prospection’ in Laa a.d. Thaya. Focusing on the early beginnings of archaeological prospection as well as the latest developments, the LBI ArchPro managed to gather some of the very first pioneers in the field, such as Martin Aitken, Mike Tite, Albert Hesse, John C. Belshé, Otto Braasch, Yasushi Nishimura and Helmut Becker, as well as the second generation of scientists including Jörg Faßbinder, Michel Dabas, Chris Gaffney, Vince Gaffney, Dominik Powlesland and experts of the LBI ArchPro.
