Remote Sensing Data Interpretation

The archaeological interpretation of the ALS data covering the Birka case study area was completed, and more than 2,000 assumed burial mounds identified and mapped in ArcGIS. A detailed interpretation of the ALS data from the case studies Halbturn and St. Anna has been completed. First processing of the ALS data from the case study Kreuttal has been conducted. The ALS data acquired over the case study area Uppåkra have been processed and interpreted, resulting in the discovery of previously unknown structures of archaeological interest in the wider Uppåkra landscape. The interpretation of the ALS and ALB datasets from the pilot study conducted in Croatia in collaboration with LBI ArchPro partner RGZM was particularly successful. The AHS data set from Carnuntum covering the area of the school of gladiators was processed in various ways and interpreted archaeologically.
