Our team member Georg Zotti is co-developer of the popular free and open source Stellarium desktop planetarium. Recently, the “Release 1.0” of this unique software has been finally published.

Georg’s developments in Virtual Archaeoastronomy allow accurate simulation of the sky in virtual reconstructions of past archaeological sites.

This latest update also represents a major technical step forward, allowing for further development into the late 2020s.  Stellarium is developed by a small handful of voluntary experts. It has gained a disproportionately large community of hundreds of thousands of regular users.
